Contributing to Omnivore
Learn how you can contribute to Omnivore without writing any code
Omnivore is a free and open source project. We rely on community contributions to improve our service, reach more users, and to offset our costs.
If you are a developer, all of our code is open-source, and code contributions are welcome.
If you are looking for other ways to contribute to Omnivore, consider one of the methods listed below.
In the future Omnivore will add a set of premium paid services. Our current source of income is the charity of our user base.
If you're getting value out of Omnivore, consider donating financially to our Open Collective fund. We use our fund to pay other community contributors for things like translations and to offset the costs of some of our infrastructure.
Omnivore relies heavily on community feedback. The best way to give us feedback is by joining our Discord and telling us what you think of Omnivore. Some of our most loved features have been suggested by users in Discord. We use community feedback to prioritize our roadmap, find bugs, and improve existing features.
If you are interested in providing translations for Omnivore, we suggest starting with our Getting Started with Omnivore Guide. Thanks to the community it has already been translated from English to French, and Chinese.
Content creation helps members of the Omnivore community and helps grow the Omnivore community. Creating content helps current users learn how to get the most out of Omnivore and exposes new users to Omnivore.
If you are a content creator with an existing audience, writing about Omnivore is a great way to contribute. Omnivore is a tool for Power Users and they really appreciate tutorials, tips and tricks, and any content that helps them get the most out of their reading. If you need any assistance publishing a piece of Omnivore content, please join us on Discord or send an email for help.
You can also use our Press Kit for screenshots and graphics.
If you don’t have an audience but would like to write about Omnivore, or have ideas for content, please reach out to us with your ideas. We’re happy to help publish content on our blog, YouTube, or other social profiles.
